This is my first journal entry here, despite being a member for quite some while now. I wonder why... perchance is it because I never really agreed with the deviantart creators about what this site was for and used it only as the cloest approximation to my needs? I think so.

Anyway, the reason for the sudden change of heart is not in fact a sudden change of heart at all. No, rather I will be removing a large majority of my work, possibly all of it, from deviantart in the very near future (ie, the next couple of weeks). My reasons are, apart from what I outlined above, that a) I've never been comfortable with deviantart owning any work I have on this site and b) I actually want to start developing work that I can make a go of in the real world (you can see how a) would hinder this). I've also found the site never to be paticularly useful for writers. Few comments, many of little use (not the valuable few, you know who you are) and the site itself full of other nonsense that serves no artistic purpose at all distarcting an easily distracted majority of users. On the other hand I've never found any site that was paticualrly useful, so in all likelyhood it is just me being a grumpy sod. I'm letting anyone who actually gives a monkeys about my work know, firstly to say thank you to all of you. Many of you I know personally, so again, woo for the artistic connection horizon broadaning for writers on the web. Secondly I'll be giving you my new online abode sometime soon, so read your journals do. I will be keeping TheWarieFiend as a way of reading all your work and the work of other artists so I won't be vanishing completely.

Does it amuse me that my first journal entry also foretells my last? Yes, yes it does. O the delicious irony...
